Looks like it could be a long winter. Things just aren’t where we thought they were going to be. Galliford Try are creating their working space ready to lay the foundations. The top layer of the site is removed to check conditions below. Despite having done an electronic survey, National Grid are proved wrong in their siting of the 30-inch gas main that supposedly runs next to the site boundary. We later find it’s four metres to the left, so have to re-design the sharp corner of the building to accommodate it. We also find BT and electricity cables which we weren’t expecting to have to start the diversion process.
