Sian Brunt joined Hotel La Tour Birmingham in April 2012 to run the admin office and has now been promoted to Training and Development Manager. Congratulations Sian!
She plays a key role in the way we recruit, train and look after our team: we call it Living La Tour – here she describes how she is working to ensure the promise we make to our people – Hotel La Tour inspires and invests in its employees who create the best possible places for guests to work, stay and play – is a reality.
Sian writes: “At Hotel La Tour, we know that the single most important part of delivering our business goals is the people who work here with us ‘living La Tour’ every day. Inspiring and investing in our team to enthuse and equip them to create fabulous memories for our guests is, in part, my role at the hotel. It begins by delivering a learning environment where training and access to training is omnipresent within departments and the team can feel confident and prepared for what their varied and challenging hospitality careers can offer them. As well as regular bursts of training, I also want to develop a menu of more detailed sessions where everyone – from entry level employees to managers – can develop their skillset to prepare them for the next stage of their career.
Learning should be celebrated and, as a company, we are committed to recruiting from within wherever possible, something which we already have extensive evidence of.
