A fleet of black cabs have been brightening up the streets of Birmingham after being commissioned to spread the word about the city’s newest luxury hotel.
Sporting the signature black and pink colour scheme of Hotel La Tour, the cars are becoming a popular sight and are just one of the ways we are working to promote the city as a great destination to work, stay and play.
Data released by PwC shows the Birmingham hotel industry continues to grow despite economic adversity. The latest regional figures reveal occupancy rates in the year to June 2013 reached 70%, up from 65% in the same period last year.
Hotel La Tour, in Albert Street, supports local businesses on a daily basis by promoting the city to a UK audience. Recent initiatives have included a “Stay More in Birmingham” direct mail campaign plus a popular “Love Brum” blog on the hotel’s website.
Jane Schofield, Managing Director, Hotel La Tour, said: “We believe that Birmingham businesses have a responsibility to support each other and by doing so, the city’s tourism industry will continue to grow. Our new taxis are another way to bring the city together.”
