Move over Anne Hathaway and SuBo, lovely Lauren James is dreaming a dream just for you at Alvar Bar this weekend.
She’s played Cosette and Eponine in Les Miserables and Nessa Rose in the London production of Wicked, now she’s bringing a taste of the gittering West End to the heart of Birmingham.
Accompanied by pianist Jack Brooks you can hear her take on a selection of songs from the musical theatre at Alvar Bar from 1pm on Sunday – and feel free to ask for your favourites.
We have some great musical entertainment to start the weekend off too: on Friday, vocalist Lauren Alexandra will be seeing in the weekend with pianist Benjamin Grey and guitarist Pete Gardner. Join the trio for a great set of modern and reworked classics between 5pm and 7pm and enjoy half prize on selected bottles of Champagne during our Friday Fizz event.
On Saturday, we’re excited to welcome Amy Smith, fresh from touring France and delighting audiences with her soulful vocal style. Birmingham-born Amy is bringing an electic mix of intimate chilled out covers and uplifting acoustic classics. Join her from 6pm at Alvar Bar, Hotel La Tour Birmingham, where she’ll be joined by pianists Benjamin Grey and Paul Rahme until 10pm.
