All that jazz for festival opening

The Daryl Sherman Trio will be playing at Hotel La Tour Birmingham on Friday July 6 as the 28th Birmingham International Jazz and Blues Festival gets underway.

Daryl’s well known as a sparkling mainstay of Manhattan nightlife, and for many years played and sang for savvy New Yorkers, international visitors and dignitaries at the Waldorf Astoria’s famed Cole Porter Steinway.

The delivery of our new piano couldn’t have been better timed: this beautiful instrument arrived for the launch of High Tea at La Tour and we’re now looking forward to welcoming Daryl to the keyboard.

Daryl is equally at home in the worlds of jazz and cabaret and her many recordings have received critical praise and airplay internationally. Her personality shines through, guaranteeing a fun evening for jazz afficianados and those less well acquainted with this genre.

Chef Alex Penhaligon is working up a special menu for the occasion. We have special packages for the event including Music and Dine at £35 per person, including a cocktail on arrival plus a three course dinner at Aalto Restaurant with music from Daryl. There’s also a Dine and Stay package for £169 for two, including a cocktail on arrival, three course dinner at Aalto Restaurant with music from Daryl, overnight accommodation and breakfast.
