Hotel La Tour, the new £24m in Birmingham City Centre, is to open its restaurant on Friday March 30. Aalto Restaurant will feature classic British dishes served with a modern twist,

The brasserie style eatery has 90 covers plus a Chef’s Table, where a party of ten can get up
close and personal with the kitchen team, plus a private dining room.
The menu will feature a selection of breads and dips, starters, mains, side dishes and, of course, temping puddings. There is also a small section of “sweet treats” to satisfy the sweet tooth cravings of those who can’t manage a full pudding.
The final menu is expected to include:
Breads and dips – House baked bread, salted butter; Sourdough crisps, hummus and caramelised onion
Starters – Smoked beetroot tart with crème fraiche and walnuts; Celeriac and roast garlic soup with a soft poached egg; Trealy Farm bacon olives
Mains – Hereford beef rib eye steak (red wine sauce, horseradish, chips); Cornish sea bass
(creamed leek, mussels, grain mustard) Field mushroom and thyme crumble (smoked applewood cheese, herb salad).
Puddings – Jaffa cake pudding (warm chocolate, orange cake crumb, cream); Bread and butter pudding (caramelised banana, rum cream); Knickerbocker glory (ice cream, rhubarb, meringue, cream).
Prices are expected to be around £5.50 to £8.50 for starters, £11 to £16 for mains, and £5.50 for puddings.
