Shopaholics Galore: A Day in Birmingham

Fancy some retail therapy?  Whatever you are looking for, be it a new pair of shoes, some sparkling jewellery, the latest electronic gadgets or clothes shopping, a trip to Birmingham will keep any shopaholic satisfied.

Being a popular city for domestic tourism, Birmingham is unsurprisingly the third largest retail centre in the UK, with annual turnover of £2.43bn.  It features some of the UK’s finest department stores, and the iconic Bullring shopping centre, which is a fantastic place to shop with over 160 outlets selling a whole range of retail goods.  For those who also like to snap a picture or two, the Bullring even offers shoppers fantastic photo opportunities with its landmark Selfridges building.

Then there is the fashionable Mailbox complex, also hosting a variety of shops including Harvey Nichols and Emporio Armani for fashionistas looking for the latest style trends.

For those who love a bit of sparkle, the Jewellery Quarter is famed for specialist hand-crafted jewellery, clocks and watches.  With over 100 independent retail jewellers, the variety on offer is second to none and all with competitive pricing.

For something a little more unique, Birmingham also offers a host of independent stores where you can pick up something different or quirky.

Need more reason to book your shopping trip to Birmingham?  How about the Hotel La Tour “shop ‘til you drop” offer?  With their fantastic location, just two minutes’ walk from Selfridges and the Bullring, Hotel La Tour is offering a shopping package for those who would love to shop.  The package includes a stay in the double bedroom, a bottle of Veuve Clicquot Champagne on arrival, a generous £50 voucher to spend at Selfridges, a little goody bag to take home, as well as £40 to spend in the hotel – a little afternoon tea perhaps to rest those tired feet?  How about dinner at Aalto Restaurant to chat about those fabulous purchases?  You can even use it towards a cocktail or two to celebrate your successful shopping trip – what a heavenly way to end the day!!
