Cycling for a great cause

We were delighted to help provide some much-needed R&R as this team of cycling surgeons arrived in Birmingham on their nine day, 600 mile trek all the way from Glasgow to London.

The guys set off from the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow and are taking in all the major children’s hospitals in the UK, including Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH), before finishing at Great Ormond Street in London.

Michael Kuo, ear, nose and throat surgeon at BCH, said: “We’re raising money for Lifebox, an organisation which helps to save lives through safer surgery. We’ve raised £13,000 so far which will be used to provide pulse oximeters for children having surgery in Malawi. It’s a very basic piece of equipment and something we couldn’t imagine not having in this country.”

You can find out more and support this great cause at Lifebox.
