Sunday lunch? Put away your pinny and come to Aalto at Hotel La Tour Birmingham

Could this be the best culinary news this season? Aalto Restaurant at Hotel La Tour Birmingham is now open for Sunday lunch (and dinner – this menu is served from 12.30 to 9.30pm)

So, call up your friends and relatives and get a plan together: doesn’t have to be a special occasion, Head Chef Alex and his team will be delighted to see you.

They’ve cooked up a great menu priced at £18.95 for two courses and £25 for three. Among the dishes you can expect to see are:

Starters:

Roasted onion and brie tartlet; Leek and potato soup with a chive creme fraiche; Devilled mackerel with fennel salad

Mains:

Roast sirlion of beef with traditional trimmings; Slow cooked pork belly with apple sauce and crackling; Cauliflower and leek gratin with a herb salad

Puds:

Sticky toffee pudding with clotted cream; Bitter chocolate tart with vanilla cream; English cheeses

It’s tasty, traditional but served with a modern twist.

What are you doing this weekend?
