If you love all things foodie and fancy a treat, please consider a night at the Chef’s Table here at Aalto Restaurant.
You and your guests – parties of six to eight are ideal – will be guaranteed a delicious and memorable evening as Head Chef Dan Pearce presents a special menu with wines carefully selected by our own Chris McCaughran.
The guys really enjoy this opportunity to create a very special occasion and there’s often the chance to take a tour around our kitchen and meet other members of our busy kitchen team.
The menu can be devised to suit your event and taste, but could look something a seasonal amuse-bouche served as you take your seats at the table which allows you to be part of the buzz of the restaurant but with a privileged view into the kitchen. You’ll then enjoy a pre-starter before moving onto the start proper, maybe duck rillettes with radish salad or king scallops with Paddock Farm black pudding. Your mains might be selected from either Lake District Beef with mushroom and horseradish or some very special line caught fish of the day.
From there you will move onto a pre dessert from our brilliantly talented Pastry Chef Rachel Dorrell and then your dessert proper – you might try Rachel’s much-lauded egg custard tart with nutmeg and warm berry compote or a rich and tempting chocolate souffle.
Still room for more? Try some English cheese – at the moment we’re really enjoying Ragstone goat’s cheese served with chutney and crackers.
You’ll be given the chance to sample some great wines with a glass presented as the perfect match for each of your dishes. It’s a great way to experience how well a carefully-chosen wine can complement a dish and a wonderful opportunity to try something new and perhaps find a new favourite.
As the night draws on you’ll enjoy tea or coffee with homemade confectionery.
