Congratulations to Hotel La Tour barman Nick Robinson who is through to the finals of a new city cocktail competition.
Nick retained his cool – he’s rarely shaken and seldom stirred – under pressure after being invited to mix up his recipe for a great new drink using Clement rum from the Caribbean island of Martinique.
And his Ti’Punch, featuring coconut milk and coconut cream, fresh ginger and lemongrass, a fragrant rhubarb and ginger jam plus fresh limes and demerara sugar, caused taste buds to tingle and has only gone and won him a place in the Midlands final which takes place at city bar The Bureau.
Nick, who is pictured here with the Little Prince cocktail he created to celebrate the birth of Prince George, is tantalisingly close to a trip to the Caribbean as the winner will be jetting off to sample island life in Martinique.
